What is Ballet Folklórico?

Our dancers learn authentic choreography from various regions of Mexico while building confidence, discipline, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for Mexican culture.

Everyone is welcome—no previous dance experience or cultural background is required

Do I (or my child) need previous dance experience?

No.

Many of our students begin with little or no dance experience. Our instructors provide age-appropriate and level-appropriate instruction in a welcoming environment where dancers can learn at their own pace.

Do you have classes for boys?

Absolutely! We proudly welcome boys of all ages and have a growing number of male dancers in both our Academy and Company Programs.

What ages do you accept?

We offer classes beginning at 3 years old and welcome dancers of all ages—including adults. It's never too early or too late to start dancing.

Can adults really join even if they've never danced?

Absolutely! Many of our adult dancers started with no dance experience. Whether your goal is fitness, cultural connection, learning something new, or performing, you'll find a welcoming community here.

How much is tuition and what is included?

Tuition varies by class and program. Monthly tuition remains the same each month because it is based on the semester rather than the number of classes in a particular month.

Academy tuition generally includes weekly instruction, recital participation, and one recital costume rental. Additional items such as dance attire, shoes, practice skirts, accessories, workshops, or additional costume rentals (when applicable) are purchased separately.

Can I take a trial class?

Yes! Trial classes are available when space permits and are a great way to experience our program befoe registering. Please contact us to schedule your visit.

Are parents (or guests) allowed to observe class?

To encourage independence and minimize distractions, parents & guests do not sit inside the classroom during class. Our studio includes viewing windows where parents & guests may quietly observe portions of class. Adult classes, of course, are attended independently.

Can I register after the semester has started?

Academy Registration typically remains open for approximately the first two weeks of each semester, provided space is available. After that, enrollment closes until the next semester so classes can continue progressing at the same pace together.

What should I wear to class?

Dress code varies by class and program. Generally, dancers should arrive in appropriate dance attire with the required shoes, hair secured away from the face (when applicable), and a water bottle. Dancers attending trial classes should wear comfortable athletic attire and tennis shoes.

Our Company Programs are audition-based and provide additional rehearsals, advanced training, competitions, workshops, festivals, and special performance opportunities.

Registration for our children's company is audition based with auditions being held in the Spring. Registration for our Adult Company is open year-round based on dancers experience and audition. Will I (or my child) have opportunities to perform?

Yes! Performance is an important part of our program with a Winter and Spring Recital scheduled into our program. Throughout the year, students who are performance-ready may be invited to participate in community performances.

What happens if I miss a class?

If you or your dancer will be absent, please notify your instructor via email. We do not offer refunds, discounts, or prorates for missed classes.
