The mission of Ballet Folklorico de Dallas Ft. -Worth is to share and preserve the Mexican culture through dance. We strive to create a nurturing & inclusive environment for dancers of all ages and skill levels to explore their passion, develop technique, foster creativity, and give back to the community.

In Jan. 2019 Melissa Magana began to offer traditional Mexican Folklorico classes to at a local community center in the North Texas area. In 2021, she formally started Ballet Folklorico de Dallas -Ft. Worth to offer classes to both children and adults in the entire DFW metroplex. Ballet Folklorico DFW's studio is located in Watauga, TX.

Owner & Directors

Melissa & Josue Magana

Melissa Magana is originally from El Paso, TX and began dancing folklorico at the age of 4 and through college. While studying mechanical engineering, she had the opportunity to tour nationally as member of one of the collegiate dance companies at her university (Living Legends). After graduating in mechanical engineering, she thought her dancing days were over as she set out to work as an engineer. With the support of her husband, Josue, the opportunity presented itself for her to leave the corporate world and stay at home with her children and focus on her passion for dancing. Her goal as the director of Ballet Folklorico DFW is to create a positive environment for every dancer to thrive both in and out of the dance studio.

Melissa takes on the role as executive director teaching the company classes, adult academy classes and overseeing the children academy and Crowley ISD folklorico programs. Her husband oversees the the day-to-day logistics as the operations manager.

Aubrey Morris

Aubrey Morris is from Dallas, TX and grew up in the DFW metroplex. Aubrey has trained in many different styles of dance over the past 20 years such as ballet, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, and musical theater. She has competitively trained with Doubletake Dance Studio, classically trained with the Ballet Academy of Texas, and studied at Sam Houston State University, where she received her BFA in dance. She is eager to work as a dance teacher, and has had prior experience when it comes to teaching others, and working with children and adults.

Hi my name is Desiree, I enjoy folklorico because it connects me to my hispanic roots and also has led me to unforgettable friendships, other than dancing I hold a B.S. in Biology and work in health care. Both dance and taking care of patients have disciplined me with qualities and attrributes I will always remember.

Victoria Fabian

.Hi! My name is Victoria Fabian, I have been dancing Folklorico since I was 15 years old. My passion is motivating the next generation by sharing our rich cultural heritage through this beautiful art form. To me, Folklorico is more than just dance—it is our culture and our community. I find so much joy in nurturing each child’s progress and watching them grow into confident individuals who love their roots. It is truly an honor to represent our beautiful country and share its traditions with my students!
